The Kurent house, home of the Slovenian Kurent

With the inscription of the kurent, the most recognizable carnival character in Slovenia, or its tradition, on the UNESCO List of Intangible Cultural Heritage, Slovenia has received exceptional recognition.

Kurents traditionally only appear in Ptuj each year between Candlemas Eve and Ash Wednesday. However, at the Kurent House, visitors can use modern technologies to learn about them all year round.
